Nicole, sounds like allergies to me too. I would still have the pediatrician check her out, and keep an eye out for a fever. My CAH son is also less sick than others in our house, except for his allergies. Mine have lessened over the years, his are as bad as mine were when I was a kid. He has taken over-the-counter (OTC) antihistamines over the years with no problem except that they make him drowsey. This year we got him on Zyrtec (prescription from his ped. dr.) and it's working great. He has more of a problem with congestion & sinus pressure (causing sinus-migraines) than with the runny nose. My non-CAH 3.5yr old takes liquid Zyrtec for his allergies, he also suffers from congestion & sinus pressure. My non-CAH step-son takes Claritin (prescription from his ped. dr.), he has a big problem with mucus leading to ear infections with his allergies. All of the new prescription allergy medicines are supposed to help with all of the symptoms, so if they determine that she does have allergies, you may want to try to get samples from her ped. dr. to see which one works best for her. Hope this helps. Good luck, allergies are a real pain (but you already know that), and they can leave your body run-down, and thus more susceptible to other problems. We were always told that OTC antihistamines were fine & wouldn't interfere with my CAH sons medications. We just decided to go the prescription route to try to avoid the side effect of him being drowsey...the other benefit is that they only have to take their Zyrtec once a day! Most OTC's have to be taken every 4-6 hours. I don't think that the CAH makes our kids any more susceptible to allergies, it's just one of those things they'd probably have CAH or non-CAH.Deb L
