Re: Intractible crying

My son (now 14 months) was a VERY fussy baby. I am not sure if it had anything to do with the CAH or not, but I guess it really doesnt matter. I just had to try to find something that made him more comfortable. There were three things that I found helped considerably. First, he seemed to need to eat very frequently. He nursed every hour or so and although this was trying for me, he seemed to do much better when I let him follow his schedule whenever possible. Second, I tried one of the "sling" type baby carriers. The first day neither of us really loved it. By the second day I couldn't get him out of it. I basically "wore" him for his first 6-8 months. He seemed to really need all that human contact. Third, we gave him Mylecon drops for gas. He woudl get horrible gas and the drops seemed to help him. Although he pediatrician said she has found they are only effective for about 50% of her kids. BY the way, he still snacks frequently and needs a lot of attention. But he is also a charming, social, smart and fun toddler. I can finally feel like we made it through that very trying and extremely high maintenance crying period. Good luck. Hope this helps.
