Re: Is a severe gag reflex common in children with CAH?

I have a son and a daughter with CAH, my son never exhibited this gag reflex, but we went through some rough times with my daughter, and sometimes still do. The minute she detects a displeasant taste, she starts to convulse like she will vomit. It is hard to watch, but we go through this with meds too. She has a hard time choking down the Cortef. When she was a year old, she was vomiting everything she ate for a few weeks, and we did all the lab work, and everything was in order. I don't think it is CAH related, but it sure is interesting that there are a lot of us who have dealt with this.
