That would be totally unacceptable for me!!!! Because sadly enough my 2 and 1/2 year old daughter died on 9/1/97 from an adrenal crisis and staf infection. Everyone on this message board probably thinks it won't happen to them or their child but it can and it did to Jessica. I doubled the cortef but I should have takened her to the hospital. And more importantly I should have given her the injection before call 911. And I live three blocks from a hospital. The ambulance came within minutes.. but don't count on the ER or the ambulance to be able to give the injection don't the medication in time. Always have it with the child and don't be relucent to give it. Be safe than sorry. You can not over dose on cortef during a crisis. I could not leave myu two remaining children with CAH with someone who could not give the injection and did not have the solu-cortef. Bottom line!!!!!!! I miss my Jessica so much. Don't let it happen to your child.
