I have a constant fear of my daughter going into the ER and nobody understanding her condition. I spoke about my concerns with her endo and now my daughter not only wears her medic alert bracelet, but I now have a card that has all her medications on it along with her dosage and her dose per metre squared. On the back of this cards are specific instructions to all medical staff. How much solu-cortef to administer for specific conditions, what type of IV saline treatment should be given, etc. Everything is there for them along with the phone number to call to speak to an endo in charge of her at the hospital. I have photocopied one for every person who looks after my daughter, and I feel much safer now. Maybe all the other parents can speak with their endo's to get the same cards if they don't already.
