Thank you for sharing your experience, Anne. I would also like to add that after attending a first aid/CPR class last year, I asked if they would give the solu-cortef if I gave it to them (we have not been instructed on how to do this). His answer was, "no". He can only give meds that they care on an ambulance. Any other meds have to be given by the patient to himself or family member. We carried a letter that our endo gave us when Kyle was repeatedly vomitting and they followed it to the letter (but slow mean, when I read literature, it seems pretty clear that speed....he was not showing signs of immediat danger, but STILL!) Anyway, my point being that an ambulace may not be of much help to you. As a side note.....does wanyone know what adrenal insufficiency is supposed to mean to medical staff? I high doses are supposed to be given in time of trauma and before medical procedures.
