Re: Bone age x-rays, Question for Nicole

Nicole, I am interested in your post because I am a little concerned about my son not getting an xray yet. He is 14 months old and goes to a ped endo that I have a lot of confidence in - however, she doesn't believe the wrist bone xrays are valid for kids under 2 or 3 and she doesn't want to do a full body xray because of radiation. (After 3 she orders a xray each year) I am wondering if your kids had wrist xrays done when they were younger? Did any of your dr.'s ever mention that the wrist xrays were too variable to read when they are younger than 3? Did you notice accelerated growth with your son or were there any indications that he was undermedicated? My son has stayed right on the 75th % for growth but I still worry without the xray and I'm not sure I can, or should, wait another year and a half for one. Sorry for all the questions. I hope you don't mind answering them. PS - I think it is so impressive that you are such an advocate for your children.
