Jamie, You didn't say how early your baby was but I can tell you about our experience. Our daughter was born six weeks premature and was put in the neonatal unit. They discovered the CAH through the newborn screen as well. They started her on the medicine through a feeding tube immediately. We started giving her Cortef just with a syringe and that worked really well. She is also a salt loser so she takes Florinef and Sodium Chloride. The Florinef we crush with a pill crusher and mixed with a 1/2 of teaspoon of milk (breast) and gave to her from the spoon. The Sodium (10 cc/day) we split into five doses a day. We got sweet syrup from the pharmacy and mixed 2 cc of syrup with 2 cc of Sodium. We found a medicator pacifier (Munchkin brandname) and gave it to her that way. That medicator pacifier has made our life soo much easier. I don't know if this helps or not but I hope so. I understand the stress that you are under. Just make sure to ask lots of questions. Our doctors have been very good at helping us to keep our daughter healthy. Good Luck, Lisa
