Re: clammy feet, hands, high pitched cry and adjusted meds

Hi Jennifer, As you know, I have had the "clammy/sweaty feet" question and even posted it on the message board several months ago. When Elliott's levels were off and when he was sick last week with Roseola, his feet and hands were actually cold but the bottom of his feet always sweaty. His fever was 102 and his face and trunk were very hot. So hot he turned the same color of red he was the day he was diagnosed with CAH. I never got a true "yes ,it is due to CAH" answer from our Endo about the sweaty feet that he always seem to have, but I don't know any other kids his age with this problem. I believe Elliott's sweaty feet were worse when his 17-OHP was in the 4000 range a few months back. His last level 5 months ago was 600. His Endo said that was ok and did not change his meds. We just got levels taken last week(we had to push blood work back by 2 months because he has had stress dosing and hospitalization 2 times since late July). I know his 17-OHP will be high because I smell underarm odor on him again. Go with your instincts!!!! As for the "blank stare", Elliott did that when he crashed in July at the MAGIC convention and 3 weeks ago at daycare when he through-up. My husband calls it the "looking past you" look. When he does that and he starts becoming limp we Solu-Cortef him. If your son continues to do this call your Endo!!! E-mail me if you need more info. or help, Michele (t.e.harrington@worldnet.att.net)
