Thanks so much... I am a concerned grandmother (very athletic and also a CAH gene carrier with more aggresive male qualities in the business world) I am the President of a senior health care facility and know about geriatrics...but never knew about CAH and what it meant to carry and pass on to my child. My daughter gave birth to Sadie 9/16/99 and the doctor (although very good in CAH) cannot diagnose why Sadie is still projectile vomiting after several days stabilized w/meds. I printed off an article on the net in the last few days trying to obtain as much info as possible and one of the articles described a vaginal/uretha blockage that caused abdominal cramps in newborns which caused them to vomit and not retain their nourishment. The article mentioned somthing about an underdeveloped stomach muscle that caused spasms which in turn caused babies to vomit. I cannot locate that link again and the doctor asked me to provide other related info. if I could before Monday. Sadie is stable in most areas other than her food intake and they are planning to run more tests Monday...a signed consent form for a blood transfusion has been requested because of the many blood test already encountered. The doctor asked for any info I could provide off the net and here I am after hours at the hospital requesting once again, help. I am new to this board, but I do appreciate the input and expertise from all of you. Sarah and Aylssa, thanks so much for responding, I really appreciate your input..., but I am not hung up on anything except wanting info to help my granddaughter and her parents. Everything I have read in the past week has pointed to some serious side affects as well as many positive results. I just want to be informed and am not trying to stereotype...but thanks for keeping me focused, I do appreciate it.
