Jen, I agree with you about the stereotypes. I was a psychology major when I first started college, and one of the first classes I took was about the psychology of women. It addressed the problems associated with sterotyping and frankly, I would love my daughter if she never touched a barbie and instead preferred trucks or hockey. In my family, and with all I have read about how CAH girls are more aggressive and display "masculine" characteristics, it is hard for me to believe since my daughter is on the opposite end of the spectrum of where these studies say she should be due to the CAH. Like one of the other moms on this board stated, other family members seem to buy dolls for my daughter. And she likes them, but when I go to the toystore, and her brothers pick out new matchbox cars, she does too. And she will play cars with her brothers for hours:)!!!!!
