I believe the main reason was oversuppression, but Dr. Pang stated that she had a patient that she felt was managed well and he developed severe osteoporosis in his mid 30's. I recently spoke to our endo on the matter. He stated that 300mg of calcium are in 8oz of milk. My son agee 6 needs 600-800mg per day. He is well above that because he loves milk and drinks at least 24oz a day, plus takes a multivitamin. The dr stated that my son drinks more milk than the average kid and he feels that he is getting enough and doesn't need supplements. I hope this is helpful.Cheryl
