Angela, my concern would be the high level, as well as the fact that he had his "six month" check-up. I thought better endos would follow more agressively, like, every 3 to 4 months, to prevent such a problem. Since, God only knows how long his levels have been that high (six months or more?) I don't know if, the older a child gets (I would think at least until puberty) they would be monitored more closely. Maybe you could check with another endo office, just to see how often they see patients your son's age.
