Cold and Flu Season

I am growing concerned as we approach the cold and flu season and I turn to you for ANY advice on combating winter bugs. My three CAH children (3.5 year old daughter and twins sons 15 months--on hydrocortisone and florinef) had a horrible time last winter. We had bronchitis, ear infections, sore throats, vomiting, dehydration, boluses, IV’s……ALL winter long. I really don’t know if I can handle another winter. Our pediatrician and endocrinologist both agree that this winter will be less severe because the boys are older and not chewing on their hands as much at this age. However, I am not as optimistic. I am willing to try almost anything. We have considered the flu shot (however we just went through traumatic blood draws with the kids X2 because the lab mislabeled and mishandled the samples) and homeopathic options. I am concerned about drug interaction. We just met with our endocrinologist and she was not opposed to homeopathic options, but admitted that she didn’t know anything about them or how they would react with CAH meds. She is open to flu shots and will make it available should we request this. My kids are home with me all day and feel my only option will be to lock them up in the house for the next 4-5 months. God help me if this is my only option! Thanks in advance for your insight and for sharing your personal experiences.
