We figured out his problem may be his two upper teeth coming in; the gums are SO inflammed. We are sneaking in liquid however we can; he can't seem to suck; even doesn't want his syringes of meds in his mouth. But, he doesn't seem to be getting dehydrated, although he is taking only about 8-12 ounces a day. There seems to be a lot of sodium in his baby food (he is not on supplemental sodium), so I don't know if that is contributing to his good humor. We are watching him so closely.
