Our daughter just had her first birthday a few days ago and I am still breastfeeding her. She has been very healthy. She was 6 weeks early and dispite her being in the neonatal unit we were able to get her started breastfeeding successfully. She was sick for the first time in September with a virus. She was not at a crisis level but they did put her in the hospital to keep her hydrated. Her doctors said that they were surprised that this was the only time that she had been sick. Our first child, who does not have CAH, never got sick until he was 2 years old and he was breastfed as well. I can't say for sure that breastfeeding is what has attributed to the good health of our children but I'm convinced that breastfeeding was the right choice for us.
