we were told when my grandson was born that he had cah. after taking blood and sending it to a lab in california (the only facility to do the sophisticated cah blood test at the time). the concern of the neo physician was not and enlarged penis, but his over excessive urine output. luckily he was born by c-section and afterwards put in peds nicu for observation in that he swallowed fluid during birth. had he not been put in the nicu unit, his cah may have not been detected and we were told he could have gone into sodium shock and would have died. i am wondering if anyone knows of any children that have been diagnosed with cah at birth, but actually were later diagnosed with another illness other than the cah. (cah misdiagnosed as their illness) thanks
