My CAH-son, now 14.5yrs old is dyslexic. He never seemed to have a problem with hyper activity, but he is very imaginative. He has always displayed all the typical dyslexic signs including an above average IQ, but he reads on a level WAY below his age and grade. I was told that dyslexia can be caused (or at least magnified) by increased levels of male hormone while in-utero--which by my understanding is what these kids do to themselves in-utero. I think if the mother takes dexamethasone during the pregnancy this doesn't happen though. My son only had a problem "feeling hyper" one time, that was recently when his prednisone was more than doubled to accomadate his needs...it was just a big jump that took his body a little while (approximately 1-2 weeks) to adjust to.
