Questionable late onset. Why not have parents tested

I'm just wondering. My step-daughter, has ambiguous genitalia. She sees an endocryn, due to her being a carrier of CAH. She is being monitored closely because of concerns of her having or producing late onset. Rather than waiting for signs of this, wouldn't it make more sense to have both parents tested? I am to understand both parents must be carriers in order for a child to have this. I just feel like if we can get more of an idea now, it could answer some questions for us. Also, my husband and I have a child together. He shows no signs of this, but, should I consider having him tested as a carrier as well? So glad I found this forum. Now I know she's not alone. THanks
Allison
