Hi Sarah Our daughter is now 9 months old and she had surgery when she was 10 weeks old. We were in hospital for 2.5 days and she recovered as if nothing had happened. I think it was harder for us as parents than it was for her. We had no hesitation in having this surgery done at an early age, and I would suggest that the sooner the better before the child is old enough to understand too much about what is going on. I'm sure it would be a lot harder in recovery for an older child as well. We only have the one child so far, so I can only imagine that your life must be very very busy with 4 children. I'm sure life will get a little easier and the whole CAH thing will just be a part of your daily routine. Best of luck. Jenni.
