My granddaughter Kayleigh, 4 1/2 years old, has salt-wasting CAH, and also had her surgery at 6 months old. It was more difficult for her Mom and Grandmother! Kayleigh came through the surgery with flying colors. I believe she came home from the hospital within two days. I think it is better to do when they are younger, because it is less traumatic for them. But of course, the decision is yours and the baby's doctors. Good luck with whatever choice you make.
