Hi Maggy! You have found a wonderful place to help find information about CAH...this message board. The parents of children with CAH who reply on this message board can give you a lot of information. My granddaughter Kayleigh, was born 5/11/95 and had ambiguous genitalia that made the mid-wife who delivered her realize there was a bigger problem not so evident. Kayleigh was full-term and looked like a very healthy baby, except for her genitalia. She was diagnosed with severe salt-wasting CAH several days later. She is a healthy, active, very intelligent and vibrant little girl. If you look on the left side of this message board, "click on" #11. "Texas Dept. of Health-Newborn Screening". It has a very good article written to be understood by parents of newborns with CAH. Things will get better for your family and you will be surprised how easy things become in time. You learn to live with CAH the same way diabetics live with diabetes. CAH is quite manageable with the proper medical guidance. I wish much luck to you and your family and health and happiness to your grandson.
