Dear Lilea, I too have migraines. I seem to get them on or close to day 21 of my menstral cycle when my progesterone is at it's highest. I have found that I usually get the migraines in late afternoon (around 4 pm) and alot of times there was stress involved. I'm pretty careful about what I eat at that time and I try to avoid bananas, avocados, cheddar cheese, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine refried beans, MSG, processed meats, also even herbal teas will be a trigger for me. That seems to help. If I do get a migraine I take prescription Imitrex nasal spray. That one shot of nasal spray migraine medication gets rid of it within 15 minutes. Lately I have a theory that my Dexamethasone is wearing off before bedtime and I'm wondering if there is any kind of test to check that. I feel about 4 pm my cortisol is getting low and I start to get tired, not feel as well. My vision gets kind of blurry too. Do you have any of these symptoms? What steroid are you on? The two types of headaches are totally different however. The headache I talked about in my previous message is definately adrenal related (base of skull in upper neck)and is nothing like a migraine (with migraines I get the aura first too) Thanks for the information Lilea.
