We always got our blood drawn whenever...generally between 1-3pm because we would go to the outpatient area of the hospital for the draws. We could get an RN or ped nurse from ER or the ped floor to draw the blood and they could get it in places other than the arm and wrist. He was a really tough stick and we were going so often that this was just the best course of action. Starting this past summer, we started going before the first dose of meds. The first time we did this, the levels were off...last time we went, he was in good range. I think the thought is that in the early morning hours is when the highest surge happens. And if they were not being properly suppressed, this time would show that more accurately.Debbi
