Source of Foggy Headed Feeling?

I have recently been reading on the addison's board about the "foggy-headed feeling" a lot of folks with adrenal insufficiency get and that's me too. I have been on dexamethasone for 21 years and my adrenals which used to work partly, are now suppressed totally and don't work anymore due to the dexamethasone. I'm wondering if others have totally suppressed adrenals from medication and if and why they get the foggy feeling ? Some days I wake up dizzy and am dizzy all day. I am not a salt-waster as far as I know (my renin test came back ok)and I was originally diagnosed with late-onset, yet since I have had several adrenal crises and subsequent hospitalizations, I'm starting to wonder if it's more than late-onset CAH. I also have problems with concentration and have problems getting my words mixed up when I'm tired or under a lot of stress (sick, etc) I haven't heard of others having crises (LOCAH) but maybe that's because they don't have totally suppressed adrenals. What is the difference between totally suppressed adrenals and addison's disease? I've noticed a hump of fat on the back of my neck/shoulder area which I've heard is linked to addisons/cushings and/or steroid use. Does anyone know about that? Of course I have the notorious headaches. Does someone out there have any answers? I don't have enough education on these conditions and would dearly like to hear some other opinions, experiences. Yesterday I had a really bad migraine at work that sent me to the ER. My endocrinologist's associate said to double my dex for the next 2 1/2 days. I'm wondering if doubling the dex is what is making me so foggy-headed. It's so bad today I'm questioning the spelling of words that I've always known. All I took for the migraine was a one-shot nasal spray of prescription Imitrex 30 mg. Please, if you have any information, I could sure use it! Susan A.
