Re: sodium tablets

My son, also salt wasting, now almost 15yrs old, was never put on sodium tablets. On my own I used to add regular table salt to his Kool-aid when he was a toddler, as well as salting his table food. My understanding is that the florinef regulates how much sodium is retained in their bodies...the extra sodium passes (in their urine I think). My son's Endo's have always & still do tell us that he can have as much extra salt as he wants. The worst problem from having too high of a sodium level is high blood pressure, but his Endo's have assured us that the florinef is in total control of sodium retention, so that won't happen.
