We have a 9 year old son who has been on growth hormones since he was 5. He wasn't even on the growth chart at that time and our endocronologist felt he was more sensitive to the steroids than the typical CAH patient. He is now at the 25th percentile on the growth chart and continues to have success with the growth hormone with no side effects. We hope to continue using it until he goes through puberty to get maximum height - which is projected to be about 5'8". Our doctor tries to keep his bone age as close to his chronological age as possible and you can only do this by keeping his hormone levels at the correct level. The high doses of cortef can really affect growth. If you have any questions about the growth hormone you can e-mail me at sognmom@aol.comSogn
