My children's cortef increased with age and the florinef decrease as they got older. And it is VERY important to give the cortef at the right time of the day and more in the 7 am dose because of the hormonal surges. I will it to my child at 7am; 3pm and 11pm - awake of not. I set the alarm and give the meds. It is VERY important that the cortef is giving not later 9am because of the hormonal surges and the way the body reacts with the cortef. Try to keep to the schedule within an hour one way or the other of the set times - 6am, 2pm and 10pm; 7am, 3pm and 11pm; or 8am, 4pm and 12midnight. You must give it when you feel like it... or you baby will get weak and sick. Not gain weight, vomits more, etc.... signs that the CAH is not be managed right. Also get the blood tested every three months and between 6 am and 8 am without the meds to test the plasma renin and OH17 blood levels. YOU can not just go by the sodium levels or body mass.Roberta
