Re: Anti-vomiting medicine

I use to wonder the same thing. But now I know that vomiting is a sign that the CAH is not being managed right (well that was the case with my daughter, Jessica, she died from a staf infection and adrenal crisis at age 2 1/2). Make sure the ped endo is monitoring the plasma renin and OH17 blood levels and doing the 0H17 test before 8am because of the hormonal changes in the day. It is so important the CAH is managed right and vomiting is a sign that it is not under control. I am not saying the vomiting can be from something else but with CAH it is a symptom. If there is vomiting - the meds may not be digested right either - VERY danagerous!! Injections are the safest way to administer the cortef if there is vomiting. And the salt and dehydration can be a big problem. Weight loss, low blood pressure.... very big problem. I suggest that you get a new doctor!! preston@kreative.net
