In our situation being admited to the hospital isn't that bad. Usually they are borderline anyway. Last week Ginny was admitted and Jonathan wasn't, even though they had identical symptoms. The problem is when we go to the emergency room our HMO requires a $50 co-pay if they aren't admitted, otherwise it's only $5. The idea is to cut down on frivolous emergency room visits, but when you have two kids with CAH it can get expensive. That's not even considering lost work.
