I have an infant born 11-1-99 diagnosed with CAH..So far he is doing well and has gained a little over two pounds since birth...At his next doctor's visit he will be getting his first set of immunizations...I have been told by his Endo. that if he shows a fever from these to double his cortef, and to give tylenol..My question is are there any other side-effects I should prepare for..He has developed high bloodpressure from his medication but the dose cannot be lowered because his sodium level drops signifigantly with any lower dose..Will he always have a high pressure...So much of his disease is still so new to me and sometimes very overwhelming..His endo. doc is an hour and a half drive from me and his pediatrition is not at all familiar with this disease, it is the first patient he has ever cared for with this..I am trying to give him the best care that I can, but I am feeling confused still about so many things..This is all so new to me...
