My blood pressure was fine with dex (pregnant with Jessica) but high weight gain can cause high blood pressure. I did gain wieght fast with Jessica. But after I had her I was back down to my normal size. The timing of the pregnancies and your age can also a factor - it is harder not to gain alot of weight with or without taking dex if the pregnancies are back to back and you are older - so many other factors on side effects than can not be all pointed to the dex. I worried taking it with the birth of my son but he is just fine - it did not affect him (gential) - VERY normal little boy - but it was worth taking if he had been a girl. I had the CVS with him and the plus with the CVS - I knew so much early that the amnio - it takes 2 weeks to get the culture done with amnio but CVS - 48 hours and only 10 weeks of dex vs. 17 weeks. And the CVS was very safe and it did not cause a miscarriage or anything - the baby was fine. CAH is treatable and I do not regret having my CAH children. They are smart, NORMAL children.
