I am just about flabergasted (sp) with all that we just dont know about Brayden's condition! After getting a letter from his endo saying that we need to increase his cortef dose I started doing more research. ( Brayden now gets 5 mg cortef and 1/2 of the .1 of florinef in the am.... 2.5 cortef around 3 ish and 2.5 mg cortef at night along with other 1/2 of florinef ) We knew nothing of possible adrenal crisis. We knew nothing of the risks beyond if he breaks a bone increase his dosage. Nothing was said about fevers.I knew nothing of injectable emergency dose. We were even fairly casual about WHEN we gave him his meds and I cant tell you how many times we missed a dose and shrugged it off!! Holy cow !! Not any more!! Brayden has had the dark circles. He has had a fall down the stairs and then was VERY sleepy. No one told me these were major danger signs!! We have been extremely lucky. What are the top things.. pieces of info we need to know to treat his symtoms better? What should we be looking for? Anyone else in the New England area and has experiance with Great Dr's for this. We thought we had the best. I am seriously questioning that now. ( We take Brayden to Children's in Boston ) Susan
