I have a salt wasting little boy almost the same age- Stephen. His birthday is 22 Dec - he just turned 6 years old. I live in the Washington DC area. And then he was fine after I gave the shot. I took him the hospital and they took a blood test and he was so alert then (they must have thought I was crazy), that they didn't give him an IV or admited him because he was fine (thank god). But better safe than sorry because he had throw up 3 time and had almost passed out. He had been playing and playing outside that play because we had a new playhouse (fort) playground (swings, slide). He didn't eat well. He was doing flash cards and almost passed out. He said he was thristy. I gave him salt water and a shot (solu-cortef) because he vomited three times after he drank some plain water. After the shot and trip to the hospital he was fine. No more vomiting...and he eat frozen ice pops and they send us home. Of course I didn't sleep all night. This happen at 11 pm.
