My daughter, Jessica, grew very well her first 6 months (somewhere in the 95 percintile), then came to an almost complete stand-still in her growth for about 4 months. When our pediatrician first noticed the leveling off, he told us to speak with our endo. At the time we were seeing an endo who came here from Ft. Worth. He said that her lab work was fine so we shouldn't worry about the lack of growth. However, at about that time his office "surrendered" the clinics in our area to an endo that had helped to train him and had moved to Midland. At about this time, Jessica started to develop the "moon-face" look. Her cheeks were puffy. This is a symptom for patients getting too much of their steriods. The new endo literally walked into our first appointment, took one look at Jessica, and said she's getting too much medicine. Since then we have ajusted each of Jessica's three daily doses to more closely mirror the natural ups and downs in hormones all humans have throughout the day. I have heard of cases where CAH patients have the opposite problem (too much weight and height) due to too much Cortef. You might ask your endo to consult another endo about the problem.Jennifer
