I live in Ottawa and have a 31/2yr old with salt-wasting CAH. I got a card from her endo which gives detailed instructions on how to care for a patient with CAH (ie: what saline solution to give and how much solu-cortef to administer if in stress). It states that she requires immediate attention and also gives the phone number to the hospital to where she sees her endo so that they can pull her file immediately. There is space on one side of the card that I update with every med change so that the hospital is aware of how much florinef and cortisone she takes and at what times. This card, I believe, will save my childs life if ever there is a problem with all of the cuts. Every person who walks into emergency wants to be dealt with first so I wanted to make sure that my daughter would be looked after first instead of them thinking that I am just another crazy mother. If you want more info on the card, let me know. Hope this helps!mom
