I have a 4 1/2 month old baby with salt-losing CAH who was diagnosed at 2 weeks of age. My endo was also very casual about adrenal crises. When my son was in the hospital after he was first diagnosed he sort of mentioned tripling the dose when he had a fever or was stressed but this was not made clear to me and I didn't pay that much attention. I just assumed that I didn't really have to worry as long as I gave him his meds 3 times a day. Thanks to all of you sharing your experiences on my next endo visit I asked about the solu-cortef, ER instructions etc... and I now carry the solu-cortef with me everywhere. If it wasn't for this message board I still wouldn't know what an adrenal crisis was. Roberta, I especially want to thank you for sharing your experience. I can't imagine how painful it must be for you to write about what happened to your daughter. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that you have probably saved the lives of other children by letting us know how serious CAH can be.Cindy B
