Solucortef is simply injectible hydrocortisone. It should be available at any pharmacy with a perscription. They have special bottles where the powder is on the top and the liquid is on the bottom. You simply push on the cap and the two mix. Shake well, draw into a syringe and inject in muscle, usually the thigh. The bottle I have is 100 mg and I have been instructed by my endo to use half the bottle. It is made by PHARMACIA-UPJOHN in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Talk to the endo about it. If you need more info let me know. Also, here's something to think about if you are calling 911. Where I live, the ambulances all carry the same med box and it DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY INJECTIBLE OR IV FORM OF STEROID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So if I were to rely on 911 for emergency treatment of my CAH child, I would be out of luck!!!!Check out what is standard on an ambulance in your area. One last thought. A doctor taught me 8 years ago when my daughter was born with salt-wasting CAH, there is no room in medicine for egos! If you don't have a doc you can talk to , go find another. There is someone else out there who can help. GOOD LUCK TO ALLconcerned mom
