I had a similar experience when our daughter was born. We live in a small town and told EVERYBODY that we had a boy. 4 days later we had to say oops.... we were wrong. The hospital had delayed on submitting a birth certificate because they suspected a problem, but this had never been relayed to us. We were led to believe that we had a perfectly healthy baby boy who had some minor cosmetic issues that would need corrective surgery. Our daughter is now a very happy, healthy, active and well adjusted little girl. She knows that she looked like a boy when she was born. Because of how it was discussed, she really doesn't think much of it. Dr. Diamond has been her urologist/surgeon ever since she was born. We really like him a lot.
