Your endo may not be aware of this, but the paramedics will more than likely not be able to inject the solu-cortef for you. They are only permitted to give meds that they carry on board. While attending a first aid/cpr class for my job, I asked about the solu-cortef so that the preschool would know the protocol. So, carrying the solu-cortef and calling 911 is not really going to help you if they can't inject unitl they reach the hospital and get doctors orders. So...I don't have a specific answer for what we should do...those of us who have endos who think we do not need to learn how to inject the solu-cortef. AS for a ray of light.....there was a time when our endo said Kyle's cah was on the severe side. WEll, we have been through rotavirus and a broken bone without a crisis. I think his first year ws hard to control, but he has had very consisiten levels after that time. You may find the same thing with your son!!Debbi
