My son has his 17-OHP's drawn every 3 months. They are done very early in the morning before he gets his morning meds. Yes, NIH tells you which drugs your child is on. you need to know this in case of an emergency. One of the experimental drugs is currently on the market and used to treat prostate cancer. Now, if your child isn't selected for the experimental treatment, they have different views on how Florinef and Cortef should be used and dosed, at least different from my endo :o) My son is on Cortef, Florinef, Flutamide, and Testalactone. So, the Florinef and Cortef are a given no matter which way you go. Now, for the upright Renin levels, my son is upright for 2 hours...he can't lie down at all. And, for the tests that require nothing by mouth, well, we don't let him eat anything. BTW, licorice is not much of an issue...I didn't even see any in the hospital. These are very knowledgable professionals, if you have doubts call them. They are friendly and easy to talk to. E-mail me if you have further questions batmanv@mindspring.comSelena
