you really don't understand precocious puberty if you think it is the doctors fault. once the adrenal glands are suppressed the hypothalamus sometimes gives the pituitary gland a signal that more hormones are needed. since the adrenals are suppressed its next step is the overies or testicles to release the hormones, hence puberty. my son sees one of the doctors that helped get lupron for these children. it is not his 'final hieght' that i worry about...it is so far from the truth when you hear these kids are on lupron. my number one concern is that my son doesn't die from his cah. my second is that i now have a 'normal' 4 year old. try to explain puberty to a 4 year old....it is the exact same as a teenager. how would you like a 4 year old with a mustache, pubic hair, ect. sitting next to your 4 year old daughter in class? you have no idea what i have gone through or worse yet my son. and you have no idea what it is like for your child to cry because they have an erection that hurts and is asking why this keeps happening. i wish i could blame it on a doctor...it would be a lot easier to fix, but it is a side affect of the cah, just one of many we have to deal with. so don't condem a doctor before you know exactly what precocious puberty is. i had 2 ped's and 1 ped. endo. that were awful with cah and cpp. he was misdiagnosed more times than i can count. now we have a doctor that knows what he is doing......praise to the doctor and you need to understand cpp before you type.
