Re: Behavior and Cortisol

I observed this in my son only one time. He was in the second grade (approx. 7 yrs old), his labs had been slightly off for quite a while. My son was & is a very caring and loving person...but on this one occasion he TOTALLY lost control and lashed out at a fellow student. His meds were increased at the next visit. We have never had another incident. He attends "anger management group" in his school--this was COMPLETELY by his choice. I think he chose to join because he wants to stay in control of his feelings, and may sometimes feel he is loosing that control. Also, I have always informed his teachers, counselors & other authority figures at his schools to let me know immediately of any behavior changes, as this may be related to his condition. I emphasize that this is not an excuse for bad behavior, but that I DO NEED to know right away.
