Dawn, I have an eight year old boy and 3 month old baby girl with CAH. Your story could be mine. My son also went into adrenal crisis at 10 days old... our pedi was able to diagnose him immediatley. I was also on dexo during my pregnancy with my daugher... thank god she will not need any surgery as the doctor belives the dexo prevented this problem.....My son also has had problems with being overweight, and the only thing I found to help was lots of fruit and vegetables, you really can't control the diet as the steroid increases their appetite...I try and get him to do some exercise such as ride a bike with his pals, play baseball, etc. Try and make him to do the above with pals and he won't even know he is exercising..... My daughter seems to be a bigger salt waster than my son....she is on 4 florinef pillls a day!!!! She could not be stabilized for three weeks......Was your experience the same? The doctor tells me that girls are somewhat more unstable than boys... Please let me know your thoughts..
