The extra inch or so I referenced was the type of very popular shoes he wears. My son, too, was initally projected to reach a height he has not reached. His local specialist told us his philosophy was to help a child reach a height that was in an average range; he refused to project a height. He was able to keep his bone age below his chronological age while we were under his care. When we went to NIH, my son was given an estimated goal height which would be normal for our family. He never forgot the number they gave, which was about 6 ft. - his father and uncles are taller than this. In the last year or so, projected height kept getting shorter. While disappointed, I know we were nonetheless fortunate. I certainly would not hesitate to seek another opinion if the window of opportunity for more growth is still open a crack. I wish you the best.Kathleen
