Re: Symptoms of CAH

My 9 year old daughter is a tom-boy, but definately looks all girl. She has more than a normal amount of hair on her arms and legs for a girl her age, but that tends to run on both sides of our families anyway. She has had surgery for her genitals because she has the severe form of CAH and was quite masculanized at birth. She is a very happy and well adjusted child, and I'm certaint that she'll be a happy young women someday... I am not concerned that CAH will ruin her life. It won't. As for her health, she is extremely healthy. She gets sick far less often than her 2 non-CAH siblings. On the rare instances that she does get sick, it doesn't last long. Don't put too much stock into that one article. CAH can be scarey; but it's treatable and your child can have a happy, healthy, long life.
