To those of you who have in the past or currently do, read the Addison's board (link at the left) - please know that Maria Stillman died 1/9/00 (her obituary states "suddenly at home"). Maria was a 42 year-old Addisonian RN, who's postings on that board were filled with so much information & compassion - she truly cared about informing adrenal insufficient people about matters and answering their questions. After my daughter's death in June 1999 (adrenal crisis), I gained great information from reading her postings. Maria was a proponent of "calling the doctor when ill, and getting to the ER & not taking chances" - this is very hard to understand - she was so experienced with living with adrenal insufficiency. The flu that's going around this year is tending to go into RSV & pneumonia quickly, which in adrenal insufficiency patients, can within just a couple hours lead to a person's inability to breathe. As we pay our respects to her & her family, let this also remind us to never, ever take our children's health for granted. Amen.Anne
