CLARIFY WHEN TO INJECT!!!

My daughter died from an adrenal crisis. So now I am very scared!!! I have a 6 year old (CAH) child in school. Believe do not wait three times and 20 minutes or whatever!! My son was sick a week ago (vomiting) and the advice was not three times but give the injection if the child vomits more than twice. And also if there is a fever - give the injection. Give tylenol and give the injection and IV fluids. My daughter had fever and the ped endo said to double the cortef. If the fever is over 102.5 - give the injection!!! Don't wait. Don't think you can get there in time. And the solu-cortef can not be given by the ambulance personnel and the hospital may take too long to give it. Always have the solu=cortef with the CAH child. And don't be afraid to inject it. Be safe, rather than sorry. Just double the oral dose was not enough for my little 2 and 1/2 year old. I can not go back and maybe someone will read this and understand. Don't just think an oral dose is enough. With vomiting... that is a serious thing. Dehydration..(especially vomiting and a fever together). preston@kreative.net
