NaCl

Sorry about that-you would think I could post a message by now. Anyway, another question for all of you out there with salt wasting infants. Marissa gets 5 meq of NaCl four times a day. Her NaCl solution is 2.5 meq/ml and so she gets 2 mls qid. Is this consistent with what other endos prescribe? I would really like to be able to give her only three doses of medication a day, but I don't know if that's possible or advisable. It seems like we are constantly on the go with playgroups and such for her 18 month old brother and we are always late for the midmorning salt dose. I try to give her salt every 4 hours, but sometimes it is only 3-3.5 hours. Any harm in this? Also, when have others been able to take their babies off of salt supplements? And when have you switched from liquid NaCl solutions to just adding table salt to beverages or food? And how do you measure this? Any info would be appreciated. Oh yeah, isn't it really hard to find a pharmacy that can supply salt water?? I still go the Children's Hosptial pharmacy to get it because the national chain pharmacies look at me like I'm nuts when I ask for it. Thanks!!
