There should only be a problem with our kids taking steroids IF they are taking more than they should. Most of the contraindications for taking the cortisone apply to those taking it above what a normal body would produce. since our kids do not produce enough, we are merely replacing it...not going above that (if we can help it). I have heard of older CAH people having more brittle bones (forget why) but of course, that was before they know what they know now. OUr kids, if managed properly should not have to worry about that. As for the bowed legs, my son's legs were bowed ,but only because he was so big and his legs sort of molded that way in utero. They straightened out on their own. Hope that helps!
